Walks & Talks Series: Forty Years in Underwater Archaeology: A personal account by Marine Archaeologist Ken Cassavoy

October 3, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

On October 3, dive into decades of underwater archaeology with an illustrated feature presentation at the museum!

This underwater voyage takes you from a 4500-year-old native fishweir site in central Ontario, to an 11th century “Glass Wreck” in the Mediterranean Sea, to an 1812 Royal Navy Warship wrecked on Lake Huron – with short stops at several other underwater archaeological sites (shipwrecks, a sunken city, a prehistoric portage site) in between.

Learn about the unique challenges presented by each of the major underwater sites discussed, the tools and techniques used to overcome these challenges… and meet some very interesting people along the way.

The one-hour presentation begins sharp at 7:00 p.m., October 3rd. Everyone welcome. Please call the museum at 905-732-2215 to reserve your seat.
