Photography Curatorial Assistant (Ontario Job Creation Partnership):

The Welland Museum is currently accepting applications for a full-time position as a Curatorial Assistant under the Ontario Job Creation Partnership (OJCP).

Temporary position.

Start Date: 2017/08/22   End Date: 2018/03/03

Wages: $456 weekly for 40 hrs per week.

Position details:

WORK SETTING: Museum Archives and Storage

SPECIFIC SKILLS: Date Entry, photography, attention to detail, condition reports and artefact handling.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Attention to detail

OTHER INFORMATION: The main task of this project is to inventory and photograph the oversized items in the museum’s collection. Training and equipment will be provided.

Essential:

-Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

-Photography skills is an asset.

-First Aid is an asset.

-College or University preferred in related field ie: History or museum studies.

APPLICANTS ELIGIBILITY: UNEMPLOYED CANADIAN CITIZENS OR PERMANENT RESIDENTS legally entitled to work in Canada and either: have a current claim for Employment Insurances (EI) benefits; or have a previous claim whose benefit period ended in the preceding 36 months; or have a previous benefit period that began in the preceding 60 months during which the individual was paid maternity or parental benefits, after which they left the labour market to care for a new-born or adopted child and are now seeking to re-enter the labour market.
